We consider our clients to be family, so we want you to meet ours!  The Arryved Family Spotlight will give you a peek behind the curtain so you can get to know the people behind your Point of Service!  This week, meet Ben from the Engineering Team.

What is your position at Arryved?

I’m one of the software engineers here. I started at Arryved in April 2019 and quickly got my feet wet by working on Arryved Insider. However, I have spent most of my time here as the sole engineer developing Arryved View.

What is your favorite part of working for Arryved?

My favorite part of working for Arryved is easily the engineering team that I am a part of. This is my first job as a developer, and I have been extremely fortunate to work alongside and learn from some very talented, experienced, and intelligent colleagues.

Interesting fact about you?

I have had careers both in geology and in teaching math and science, but my true passion is for software development, which I discovered by participating in a coding bootcamp called Coding Dojo, which totally transformed my life. I was raised in Vermont, but living in Colorado has always felt like where I belong.

What is your desert island beverage?

If I had to choose just one, it would have to be New Belgium’s Citradelic Tangerine IPA.

Do you have a work from home pet peeve?

My primary workspace has been right next to the kitchen, so if there is something happening there or if some nice smells are wafting my way, it can definitely be hard to maintain my concentration.

What do you do to stay sane?

Depending on the season/weather, you will find me participating in one of my many outdoor activities: rock climbing, backcountry skiing, mountain biking, or hiking. During these times of isolation, I have also cultivated (pun intended) a passion for gardening.
