5 Breweries Making a Difference with Donation at Checkout

Arryved is proud to work with businesses that prioritize doing good in their communities. Here are 5 breweries leading the pack with Donation at checkout.

In October 2021, we launched the Donation Feature for all businesses that were interested in participating. If enabled, guests are given the option to round up their tabs or donate whole dollar amounts to an organization of the business’s choosing. By the end of January 2022, a whopping $80,000+ was raised across all sites that had donation at checkout turned on!

Arryved is proud to work with businesses that prioritize doing good in their communities. After some recent news that a brewery’s hard work is benefitting our own neighbors nearby, we’d like to highlight them and some other charitable businesses with generous guests.

Here are 5 breweries that are leading the pack in fundraising and spreading positivity:

4 NOSES BREWING CO.

Donating to: Marshall Fire Relief Fund

4 Noses Brewing Co. in Broomfield, CO benefitted the Marshall Fire victims in their January fundraiser. This cause is especially near and dear to Arryved’s hearts, because the towns impacted—Louisville and Superior—are in our Boulder base’s backyard.

The Marshall Fire began on December 30 due to an unknown cause. Colorado hadn’t gotten moisture in much too long, and the brush fire was further fueled by 60-100 mph winds that day. Homes nearby were told to evacuate, traffic reared its chaotic head as families and their pets fled, and the fire continued to blaze while first responders helplessly fought with water against the uncontrollable wind.

The fire destroyed 1,084 homes worth a combined half-billion dollars in Louisville, Superior, and unincorporated areas, as well as several commercial buildings. It will go down in history as the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history. Our friends and peers affected are still reeling from the damages as they rebuild their homes, collect the essentials they lost, and come to terms with the tragedy that ended 2021 on such a devastating note.

4 Noses spent the month of January donating $1 from every pint, 4-pack, 6-pack, and bottle sold, plus they used the Donation Feature at checkout to rake in even more funds to benefit affected families. On top of that, 4 Noses ran an auction with incredible bundles such as WinterWonderGrass tickets and a fishing trip in Charleston.

Their hard work definitely paid off: 4 Noses, along with friends at the Odd13 and Wild Provisions taprooms, collectively raised $26,990 for the Marshall Fire Relief Fund! Bravo to the taprooms and guests that participated.

MIKE HESS BREWING COMPANY

Donating to: Camp No Limits

Mike Hess Brewing Company in San Diego made their January fundraising beneficiary Camp No Limits, based out of Maine. This organization provides an escape for kids with limb loss or limb differences, where they can develop happy, independent lives. Through physical and occupational therapy, as well as the support of kids just like them, Camp No Limits creates a fun, educational experience for children and their families and assists in the adaptation to prosthetics with sporting activities.

In addition to Mike Hess Brewing offering donation options at checkout, they also donated a percentage of all January sales to Camp No Limits.

WISEACRE BREWING CO.

Donating to: Binghampton Development Corporation (BDC)

Wiseacre Brewing Co.’s January fundraiser benefitted the Binghampton Development Corporation. The BDC supports the revitalization of the historic Binghampton neighborhood in Tennessee with economic development and empowerment programs for the community plagued by systemic poverty. The organization also provides mentorship for both adults and children, affordable homeownership opportunities for residents, and develops community spaces such as parks and gardens. Through partnerships with community leaders and other organizations, the BDC aims to “mitigate blight, build hope, and restore justice.”

Using the Donation Feature funds from January, Wiseacre hopes to send 12 youths to a Community Building conference, in addition to supporting all other BDC initiatives. The brewery has already collaborated with BDC before, participating in a school supply drive last summer, as well as hosting the annual Kaleidoscope Food Festival which celebrates and showcases the diverse cultures of Binghamton with food, performances, and storytelling, along with Wiseacre’s own delicious beer.

URSA MINOR BREWING

Donating to: Mentor Duluth

Ursa Minor Brewing in Duluth, MN began using Arryved’s Donation Feature in December, and their first beneficiary was Mentor Duluth. The organization pairs young adults from St. Scholastica’s Dignitas Program with older adults living in Duluth to build enriching and diverse relationships. With mentors from a variety of backgrounds, Mentor Duluth hopes to create an inclusive community with members both old and new.

After raising over $1,200 in December, Ursa Minor will keep the momentum going by changing up the charitable cause every month. This month, they’ll be donating funds to COGGS, which builds sustainable mountain biking trails.

BLACK MESA BREWING

Donating to: Dec My Room

In Norman, OK, Black Mesa Brewing has committed all donations at checkout to Dec My Room. Since 2007, Dec My Room has decorated hospital rooms for young patients with long-term stays in an effort to create a comfortable healing place for them. The organization trains volunteers across the country to gather patient interests and likes, shop for them, and decorate hospital rooms with the donated supplies. Dec My Room provides everything from bedspreads, shower curtains, toys, crafts, stickers, and cups to deck out rooms top to bottom with Fortnite, Disney, or any other fun theme that the patient likes.

So far, Black Mesa’s guest donations have decorated 5 rooms for hospitalized kids, and they’re just getting started!

NoDa BREWING

NoDa Brewing was one of the first sites to launch the donation feature at their taproom location in Charlotte, North Carolina. They’ve donated to various nonprofits since launching this feature and have helped donate thousands of dollars to various nonprofits in their area.
